Hopefully you have registered for the camp, and now you're making plans for coming. Here is some important info to help you out:
REGISTER NOW!!! if you want to attend as the limited spaces are filling quickly. We will close registration once we have reached
the limit and it is getting close. A capped number of attendees helps us maintain a smaller ecological footprint and to have our logistics covered so all campers have a safe , good time.
Even if you are ONLY COMING FOR THE DAY you need to register beforehand.
We have changed the location where the camp will be held. The new place is called Dancing Waters Inn, and is in Wimberly, Texas. The land is part of area being preserved that includes Jacobs Well, a deep underwater cave.
Even though the location has changed there is PLENTY of beautiful Hill Country camping.
Cost is on a sliding scale of $15-$50 but no one will be turned away due to inability to pay.
All meals are included and will be vegetarian or vegan options.
VERY limited indoor sleeping accommodations are available for participants who have special needs. There are only 6 bed spaces available and we will give priority to those who really need them. For everyone else there are abundant, beautiful, campsites available.
Our workshop schedule will be posted in the next few days.

Hey Folks
Welcome to the the NEW RAD CAMP site! We are glad to have the site back up again after losing our server during Hurricane Rita's vist to the Texas gulf coast.
We have exciting news! We are going to have another encuentro this spring in March 2007, our 9th camp, and it will be a return to an actual CAMP. Yes you saw it correctly...we will be having the next Radical Encuentro Camp under the stars (and back to our roots) in central texas.
The date is going to be: MARCH 2ND-4TH 2007
It will be held on a private 50 acre site next door to historic Hamilton Pool 30 minutes outside of Austin.
There will be camping, music, discussion and the usual building of communites from around the
southern and western regions.
This camp will have themes on CLIMATE CHANGE , CLIMATE JUSTICE as well as our usual skills workshops for grassroots organizers.
This camp will be in a partnership with Rainforest Action Network, S.E.E.D. Coalition and the Alliance of Community Trainers.
We will be bringing people from areas around the country who have been impacted directly by
environmental racism and climate change including folx from West Virginia, where mountain top removal
for coal is happening, from the Dine (Navajo) people in New Mexico, and from the Gulf Coast region where
devastating storms have affected more people than ever.
We will be putting out a call shortly for workshops and presentations.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE NEXT THE RADICAL ENCUENTRO CAMP!
We would like to thank Alliance of Community Trainers for supporting R.E.C. by acting as our fiscal sponsor for this camp.
